The Washington DC Taiwanese School (WDCTS) recently marked its 40th anniversary and has achieved three consecutive years as the recipient of the top OCAC award for its TCML program. WDCTS offers four in-person classes every Sunday at its Cabin John MS campus, one in-person class every Tuesday at NASA, and two online classes on weekdays. Students enrolled in our TCML program not only acquire proficiency in Mandarin but also immerse themselves in the vibrant Taiwanese cultural experience, distinguishing our school from others. The TCML program at WDCTS follows a yearly schedule divided into two semesters.
Upon enrolling in the TCML program at the Washington DC Taiwanese School (WDCTS), students will discover that emphasis is placed primarily on "listening" and "speaking" Mandarin, followed by "reading" and then "writing". The introductory Mandarin class is tailored for students without any prior Mandarin knowledge, while the advanced class offers immersive Mandarin learning. Students attending in-person classes are provided with complimentary access to online classes, and vice versa. Additionally, students partake in unique Taiwanese cultural activities, such as dragon boat team racing, which sets WDCTS apart from other schools.
