The TCML at HTISC locates in the center of China town of Houston, providing lifelong learning curriculum to adults on various subjects including languages, flower arrangements, arts, music, health consultation since 2003. TCML-HTISC is an active participant in cultural events such as Taiwanese Night Market, Lunar New Year celebrations, and many community events all year round to bring students to immerse in Asian tradition and life as well providing services to the Asian communities. The faculty of TCML are experienced with public school teaching background and are certified Mandarin teachers for students from beginning to advance levels.
Following the curriculum of TCML, our lesson plans focus on learning practical conversation with versatile activities to introduce Taiwanese traditions including crafts, unique sports such as diabolo, traditional mask drawing, paper cutting, etc. We also share lunar calendar festivals and their ways of celebrating in traditional ways with our students. Our weekly classes currently include 2-hours of language learning and 1 hour of fun cultural class.
