Established in August 2004, Growing Tree Learning Center provides bilingual (Mandarin and English) kindergarten services for children aged 18 months to six years old. Additionally, we offer after-school tutoring for kindergarten to fifth-grade students. To meet the increasing demand for adult Mandarin learning in our community, we established the Taiwan Mandarin Learning Center in conjunction with the Overseas Community Affairs Council's initiative in June 2021. This center offers practical and systematic Mandarin learning opportunities, focusing on Taiwanese-style education. Currently, we are in the sixth term of Mandarin study courses.
The course primarily relies on textbooks from the Overseas Community Affairs Council, supplemented by instructor-prepared materials. It also offers extracurricular cultural activities and provides snacks during in-person classes. Teaching methods combine in-person and online instruction, supported by computer typing guidance and practical conversation applications. Interactive Mandarin teaching methods integrated with culture aim to develop practical language skills. Emphasis is on integrating learning with daily life for better understanding, confidence, and enjoyment. This approach allows for ongoing Mandarin development, with customized group teaching based on proficiency levels.
