Chinese School of Delaware (CSD) was established in 1971. Along with the Chinese American Community Center (CACC), the school has been recognized as a resource for culture and language in Delaware. We teach Mandarin with the traditional characters as our primary focus.
CSD offers PreK-8 immersion-format classes on Sundays, and adult language classes under the Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning (TCML) program starting in 2023. Although our students come from diverse backgrounds, they all share the same curiosity and passion for language and culture. Our curricula are based on “Let’s Learn Chinese” and “Let’s Learn Mandarin” materials available from HuayuWorld.org, and various culture and heritage aspects are fully integrated into the curricula to provide our students with rich and rewarding experiences in their Mandarin learning journey.
TCML (Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning) is a global program with a regionally-focused curriculum. We welcome all 18+ audlts interested in learning Mandarin to join our class. No prior experience necessary.
Learning language is also about culture learning. Language defines how we think in many aspects. We embrace the culture that lives thousands of years yet sill modern and meaningful.
