The Association Linguistique et Culturelle Chinoise (ALCC), France's first TCML center, was founded in 1989 with the aim of promoting traditional Chinese and Taiwanese language and culture, through activities such as calligraphy, martial arts, Qi Gong, Chinese instruments and more. ALCC takes an active part in a number of activities, including the Lunar New Year in Noisy-le-Grand (which attracts up to 8,000 people every year). Every year, ALCC organizes a week-long intensive cultural course in the summer, and a month-long trip to Taiwan every two years. The Association is also in partnership with Wenzao Ursulines University in Kaohsiung, and every year welcomes university students for 1 month in summer and 1 month in winter, to carry out their immersive internship in France.
Classes are taught by Taiwanese teachers, in traditional characters, and based on books supplied by OCAC. We have also integrated the basics of Taiwanese culture into our Mandarin courses. To make learning the language and culture more fun and effective, we hold several events throughout the year and encourage students to take part in them, with singing demonstrations, writing competitions and TOCFL level tests.
